The Annual Banquet is Jan 27th!

What is that ‘sheep skin’ you see on the raffle table at the club meetings?
Answer: It’s a fleece. The fleece is sort of a tradition with our club. Throughout the year, members donate flies to it which are raffled off at the annual dinner in January. But as of last month’s meeting, the fleece was looking pretty dismal.

I encourage you all to donate some each month, even if it’s only 1 or 2. Just think what a nice collection we would have by the time the annual raffle rolls around!

Do you tie your own flies, consider bringing some to the meeting and donating them.

Have something flyfishing related you don’t need... (clothes, art, nick nacks, lines, rods, reels...)

Feel really generous? How about doing 2 nice things? Visit Geoff Malloway at Central Coast FlyFishing, buy a fly (or 2, 3, 5… ) and donate them to the fleece. http://www.centralcoastflyfishing.comshapeimage_12_link_0

Water Skeeter Pontoon - Only Used Once!
The Water Skeeter River Guide is the ultimate pontoon raft. 10-foot double-bladder 1200 denier PVC whitewater pontoons and lots of room for fishing tackle and camping gear. Elliptical aluminum frame, removable casting platform, brass oarlocks, PVC coated cooler/ tackle bags, 7-foot oars, padded swivel seat w/ sliding frame and mesh storage compartment on the back, even has a motor mount and room for the battery. The perfect weekend paddle craft!

More portable than kayaks, canoes, and Jon boats, stable in whitewater, and very easy to maneuver. Gets you into all those great fishing spots no one else can! These portable rafts are perfect for big rivers, larger ponds and lakes.

I paid close to $1400 for this new with all the accessories (including a 20lb. anchor. I’m asking $600. But if members want to bid on it, I’ll donate whatever we collect over $600 to the club. Maybe we can use the $ to get another speaker in?

The web site:
If you have any ideas for other things you would like to see on the club web site, please let me know. I’ll admit that I am by no means a web developer guru. I am using a simple program with my Mac that builds all the code for me, and the program is limited in what is it capable of doing.
