Lower Sacramento & Trinity Rivers Fishout 2009

The Lower Sac trip was an absolute blast! Thanks to Alan and Bruce for setting up a fantastic fishout event. The fishing was great, although some mentioned it was not as good as previous trips...but for me, I had a great time and caught my fair share of fish, including 3 Steelhead on the Trinity and 1 small one on the Lower Sac, plus a bunch of nice Rainbows. The Fish of 1000 Casts... I actually had 6 solid grabs the 1 day I fished the Trinity River. I hooked 5 and landed 3. I fished with Alan (new member) that day. Alan is new to fly fishing, and it was his first time fishing for Steelhead. We had a great guide, Chris Parsons, who gave us loads of instructions. Alan did get one hook-up but lost the fish short of the boat. But that’s Steelhead fishing... To have even hooked one the first time fishing for them is a great feeling and something to be proud of.
